The Chicago Blackhawks prospect making strong case to earn spot on team
Breaking news in Hawks Nation as top prospect Frank Nazar has been lights out for the the Rockford Ice Hogs, potentially earning himself a spot on the Chicago Blackhawks.
As per Yard Barker, The Rockford IceHogs went 0-2 over the weekend, but Chicago Blackhawks' top forward prospect Frank Nazar continued his strong start to the season.
In Friday's 4-2 loss to the Grand Rapids Griffins, Nazar scored a sweet shorthanded goal to get the IceHogs on the board.
After his four-point weekend, Nazar leads the IceHogs with 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in nine games. The 20-year-old will inevitably receive a promotion to the Blackhawks at some point this season, it's just a matter of when. Chicago likely wants Nazar to continue getting plentiful reps in all situations before bringing him up to the NHL club, and he's currently doing everything in his power to show he's worthy of it.
It's no secret that the Chicago Blackhawks are struggling offensively this season. Scoring just three goals in the past 9 period, the Blackhawks currently find themselves looking for any help they can get.
Former Hart Trophy winner Taylor Hall has failed to produce on the Blackhawks top line, and superstar Connor Bedard continues his search for an ideal line mate.
With Nazar stellar play with the Rockford Ice Hogs, could he potentially be the answer to the Blackhawks offensive woes? Time will tell.
