Although the Chicago Blackhawks take on the Seattle Kraken tonight, fans up north are looking ahead to this weekend -- a game that will surely cost Connor Bedard a lot of money.

This weekend presents a highly anticipated matchup for the young NHL phenom as the Hawks take on the Vancouver Canucks -- Connor Bedard's hometown.

Last season, Connor Bedard missed his chance to play in his hometown due to a broken jaw, causing him to be sidelined for his first homecoming game in Vancouver.

The highly anticipated matchup this weekend will be Bedard's first opportunity to play against his hometown, and unfortunately, that comes with a heft price tag.

According to Athlon Sports, The No. 1 pick from the 2023 NHL draft revealed ahead of the matchup that the amount of ticket requests from family and friends is going to cost him a hefty chunk of his game salary.

«Nothing crazy, but I'll be paying to play for a day,» Bedard said, per Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

It's easy to imagine how many of his family members and childhood friends will to want to attend the game Saturday -- I assume his phone has been blowing up all week with ticket requests.

Since being drafted into the NHL, Connor Bedard as become a house-hold name in the league -- with his popularity soaring, especially in the British-Columbia region.

Saturday's game marks his first homecoming a s a pro, and unfortunately for Bedard -- it will cost him thousands!
