Ryan Donato defends Connor Bedard after disappointing loss
The Chicago Blackhawks can't seem to buy a goal lately, losing to the Seattle Kraken by a score of 3-2.
As the regular season progresses, the Chicago Blackhawks fall to 6-10-1 record, and their offensive struggles continue to intensify.
Last night's game against the Seattle Kraken presented a great opportunity for the Blackhawks to climb up the standings. The Kraken are by no means an elite NHL team, and fans hopped for Hawks would build off their 2-1 overtime win against the Minnesota Wild.
With that being said, Connor Bedard continues to be a focal point for the organization. In 17 regular season games, Bedard has managed just 3 goals so far.
Connor Bedard's "sophomore slump" is starting to creep in, drawing massive concern from fans and the media.
During a post game interview, Ryan Donato was asked about Connor Bedard's offensive slump, and the Chicago Blackhawks forward was quick to come to the superstar's defence.
"He's probably feeling it a little bit and wants to score, but I know he can definitely turn it the other way and get just as hot... When he is hot and feeling good, he can be one of the most dominant guys in the league. I hope he continues to stay positive and continues to work hard. He's one of the hardest workers I've ever met, so I don't think that's going to be a problem."
As per Ryan Donato, Connor Bedard's work ethic doesn't seem to be the problem. For whatever reason, the Chicago Blackhawks phenom can't seem to find the back of the net.
With that being said, Hawks fans are beginning to wonder if Bedard's offensive slump is stemming from a coaching issue.
It seems that every game, head coach Luke Richardson has new players on the first line, making it nearly impossible for Bedard to build consistent chemistry with his line-mates.
For the time being, head coach Luke Richardson should settle on a single game plan and stick to it.
