Petr Mrazek's performance in net sparks calls for goalie coach's firing
A shocking goaltending moment in last night's game against the Seattle Kraken has sparked outrage amongst fans.
Last night was one of the most disappointing performances from the Chicago Blackhawks all season. Not once did they have control of the game, and head coach Luke Richardson is clearly struggling to manage this team.
Although the biggest concerns are stemming from a lack of offensive production, specific moment from last night's game has emerged as the tipping point for fans.
First off, I just want to emphasize that goaltender Petr Mrazek has been the only silver-lining for the team so far. But last night, he made the highly questionable decision to advance all the way to the top of the face-off circle to challenge a Kraken shooter.
Although Mrazek is recognized for being somewhat unconventional, this kind of play is unacceptable and is no way indicative of a well coached goaltender.

Jimmy Waite is the current goalie coach of the Chicago Blackhawks. Waite has held this position since his initial hire prior to the 2014-15 season.
Although some fans found Petr Mrazek's stunt rather humorous, it's a perfect depiction of the overall state of the Chicago Blackhawks this season.
Last night's game against the Seattle Kraken highlighted so many fundamental issues with this hockey club, it's tough to put into words the amount of adjustments the Blackhawks need moving forward.
The combination of the Hawks slumping offence and questionable goaltending tactics has sparked calls for a coaching change on all fronts.
If the team doesn't manage to address these performance issues, it won't be long until GM Kyle Davidson is forced to make an inevitable change.
