Heading into tonight's matchup, the NHL pretty much counted the Blackhawks out, but they took care of business, with goaltender Petr Mrazek leading the way.
As per Bleacher Report, The Blackhawks came out harder and faster than they did in their last two games. And they were battling. And yet, there was a lot of time during the first period when it kinda felt like the Wild were okay with it because the Blackhawks were still struggling to find quality shots.
They had a couple looks, but those turned into either one pass too many situations or a blocked shot. Thankfully, the Blackhawks were able to get the first goal of the game and took a one-goal lead to the room after 20 minutes.
With just 4 minutes left in the 3rd, Matt Boldy evened things up at 1, silencing the crowd at United Center. Although goaltender Petr Mrazek was lights out during the entire game, the Minnesotta Wild would not go down without a fight.
In overtime, Chicago Blackhawks forward Philipp Kurashev buried the game winner off a nice feed from Seth Jones, helping the Blackhawks improve their record to 6-9-1.
The Chicago Blackhawks will be taking a few days off before taking on the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
