Breaking news in Hawks Nation as the team has called up big Louis Crevier from the Rockford Ice Hogs amidst Seth Jones's absence.

The Chicago Blackhawks have been plagued with bad news to start the 2024-25 campaign. The Team faced off against the Vancouver Canucks last night, but head coach Luke Richardson issued a last minute announcement, stating Seth Jones has been placed on IR due to a foot injury sustained against the Seattle Kraken.

According to sources, Seth Jones blocked a shot against Seattle Kraken Forward André Burakovsky, resulting in an unfortunate foot injury.

Now, the Chicago Blackhawks have recalled big D-man Louis Crevier from the teams AHL affiliate in Rockford to step in for Seth Jones amidst his absence.

To that end, Crevier is more of a depth recall over someone who could be expected to play a little higher in the lineup. The 23-year-old, who stands 6'8, got into 24 games with Chicago last season in his first taste of NHL action, compiling three assists, 50 blocks, 30 hits, and a minus-16 rating. This year, he has played in 11 games with the IceHogs, notching one assist.

Seth Jones has been off to a hot start to the season and leads the Blackhawks in points by a defenseman with 10. Crevier has massive shoes to fill, but it presents a unique opportunity for the young blue-liner.

The Chicago Blackhawks will look for much needed win when they take on the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday.
