Breaking news in Hawks Nation as the team has re-called goaltender Drew Commesso from minors.

The Chicago Blackhawks are taking on the Anaheim Ducks tonight, and it appears that goaltender Petr Mrazek will be unavailable for the team.

The reasons for Petr Mrazek's absence are yet to be disclosed, but the Hawks have made the bold decision to re-call Drew Commesso from the Rockford IceHogs.

At just 22 years of age, Commesso could very well get his first taste at the pro level.

Commesso sported a 2.65 GAA and .906 SV% last season for the IceHogs, but his role has increased this season with Soderblom up in the NHL since the beginning of the season because of Laurent Brossoit's injury. Commesso has a record of 2-4-0 with a 3.71 GAA and .874 SV% this season in the AHL.

Commesso is fourth on the depth chart of the Blackhawks among goalies, but Mrazek and Brossoit aren't going to be on the team forever given their age and ability to stay healthy at times.
-The Hockey News

The Chicago Blackhawks are currently sitting at the bottom of the NHL standing, ranked 32nd overall. The team is coming into tonight's matchup against the Anaheim Ducks posting a 6-10-1 record.

Some Hawks enthusiasts are predicting that this game could be a pivotal turning point in their season. The Blackhawks are currently undergoing one of the worst offensive slumps in recent memory, but have a golden opportunity tonight to get some much needed points on the board.

As it stands, were currently unsure of Petr Mrzaek's status, but will be providing breaking details when they become available.
