During last night's game against the Minnesota Wild, goaltender Petr Mrazek showcased some of the best goaltending the Blackhawks have seen in quite some time.
Heading into the final minutes of the second period, The Wild were pressing hard, doing everything in their power to even the game up at 1-1.
With roughly a minute left in the 2nd, Petr Mrazek made a sprawling save, but lost his goalie stick in the process.
Taylor Hall made a brilliant, quick thinking play, noticing that Petr Mrazek was left vulnerable without his stick and stepping up with a veteran move to lend his own in support support of his goalie - a move that surprisingly worked out perfectly.
Petr Mrazek was an abolsute brick wall for the Chicago Blackhawks last night, He stopped 32 of 33 - including 18 of 19 in the 3rd period.
Although the Minnesota Wild made things interesting, tying things up at 15:29 in the final frame, the Chicago Blackhawks emerged victorious, winning the game in overtime by a score of 2-1.
I think it's safe to say that ever bit of standing ovation was well deserved by Mrazek last night.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to keep their momentum going when they take on the Seattle Kraken on Thursday.
