Luke Richardson provides update on Seth Jones
Breaking news in Hawks Nation insider Ben Pope provides an update on Seth Jones.
Jones (foot) doesn't have a specific timeline to return but won't be ready when first eligible next Saturday versus the Flyers, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Without saying it outright, head coach Luke Richardson's update suggests Jones is somewhere in the week-to-week range - at least 7 days.
The Blackhawks will likely have to navigate without their top blueliner for the remainder of November. Look for Nolan Allan and Alec Martinez to take on increased minutes while Alex Vlasic figures to benefit from a spot on the top power-play unit.
-rotor wire Having Seth Jones sidelined comes as a massive blow to the Chicago Blackhawks organization. The veteran blue-liner has been their best defenceman by a long-shot all season, but the team will have to make do without him.
It was also recently announced that the Hawks have re-called big Louis Crevier from the Rockford Ice Hogs to provide some added support amidst Jones's absence.
To that end, Crevier is more of a depth recall over someone who could be expected to play a little higher in the lineup.
The 23-year-old, who stands 6'8, got into 24 games with Chicago last season in his first taste of NHL action, compiling three assists, 50 blocks, 30 hits, and a minus-16 rating. This year, he has played in 11 games with the IceHogs, notching one assist.

Seth Jones has finally been playing up to his $9.5 million dollar contract. He currently leads all defenceman on the team with 10 points and has been a stable presence in front of goaltender Petr Mrazek all season.
Although being out for a week is a significant blow to the team, it's a great opportunity for other depth blue-liners to grab more minutes and assume the leadership position.
