Jonathan Toews reveals his spiritual healing trip to India
Ex Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews recently opened up on instagram regarding a "healing trip" he recently took in India.
Ever since Jonathan Toews walked away from the game of hockey, it seems like the former Blackhawks captain has been a mission to rediscover himself as a person.
Toews also was diagnosed with COVID-19 and missed the entire 2020-21 season with Chronic Immune Response Syndrome. He was also out from Feb. 21-April 1, 2023, to deal with the effects of long COVID-19.
Since then, he's taken drastic measures to find different holistic healing methods to tackle his lingering health symptoms, and it appears that Toews has found his magical remedy during a recent trip to India.
"As some of you may know, I've been on a bit of a healing journey. I've had many ups and downs, brief moments of hope working with a whole bunch of different doctors and modalities, followed by doubting if things would ever improve," Toews wrote, captioning a slideshow of photos(opens in a new tab). "But I recently spent 5 weeks in India undergoing an Ayurvedic detox called a Panchakarma, and I'm happy to say things are trending.
Jonathan Toews is arguably one of the most iconic sports icons in the Windy City. Nicknamed "Captain Serious", Jonathan Toews served as the team's captain between 2008 and 2023, winning 3 Stanley Cups, include a Conn Smythe in 2010.
It's not the first time Jonathan Toews sends shockwaves down the NHL with a dramatic Instagram post.
Back in September of 2024, The former Blackhawks Captain attended the "Burning Man" festival, where he continued his off-ice soul searching journey.
I think it's safe to say that the Chicago Blackhawks are missing their former captain now more than ever, but we're extremely glad he's starting to feel better.
