Coming into last nights matchup, the Chicago Blackhawks were coming off the tail-end of their back-to-back, losing to the Detroit Red Wings the night before.
With that being said, the Chicago Blackhawks played a respectable 200ft game, but struggled severely in the face-off circle.
The Dallas Stars won an astounding 40 of 56 faceoffs against the Blackhawks last night, an area the team will need to improve moving forward.
If the opposing team is winning 70% of their draws, it's almost impossible to establish offensive momentum, and that was extremely evident in last night's macthup.
Indeed, the Chicago found themselves chasing the game from the initial puck drop. Although goaltender Arvid Söderblom had a decent showing between the pipes, the Chicago Blackhawks can't be relying on the performance of their goaltender to steal crucial wins.
The team will be looking for a major bounce back over the weekend when they take on the Minnesota Wild of another divisional showdown.
