In a recent interview, Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard goes into detail about some of the struggles of being an NHL superstar.

Unfortunately, being a young NHL phenom comes with some unwanted attention. As much as some players may hate it, it's part of the job.

Connor Bedard recently starred in a television comercial during the team's media tour in Las Vegas, but he admits a harsh truth.

If he wanted to be a famous star on television, he'd do that instead. But at the end of the day, Bedard wants to focus on hockey without the expectations of all the extra media fluff.

"It was fine. It was in Vegas (during the player media tour), we were just going station to station. But it turned out really well, I think. People enjoyed it. I think the NHL is doing a lot of stuff like that, trying to promote us off the ice, as well, a little bit. I think they did a good job," Bedard said.

"It's not fun, really. But it's part of it. It's not what I love to do. If I did, I'd be an actor. But I'm a hockey player. It's not my No. 1 thing, but it's fine."

The commercial Bedard is referring to was campaign designed to kill the notion that "Gen Z" kids don't work hard. In efforts to kill the stigma, Bedard joined the likes of fellow NHL superstars Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews to promote awareness.

Connor Bedard made himself pretty clear in the interview. Doing all the extra media campaigning his simply not what he's about as a person or player.

Although some other players might relish the opportunity for some extra screen time, Bedard would rather focus on building his club into a future Stanley Cup contender.
