Breaking news in Hawks Nation as legendary Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Duncan Keith will become eligible for Hall of Fame induction in 2025.

Duncan Keith is regarded as one of the most decorated defenceman in Chicago Blackhawks history.

The former defenceman won three Stanley Cups with the organization (2010, 2013, 2015), winning the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2015 as the most valuable player in the playoffs. Keith was also the recipient of two James Norris Trophies (2010, 2014) as the NHL's best defenceman.

With that being said, Jeremly Roenick is the latest former Blackhawk who received the distinguished honour of being inducted into the Hall of Fame, and now, new reports suggest that Duncan Keith will be eligible for consideration in the new year.

No defenseman has appeared in more regular-season games for the Chicago Blackhawks than Keith. Only Doug Wilson produced more regular-season points from the blue line for the Blackhawks than Keith. And no defenseman contributed more than Keith's 421 even-strength points while with the organ-I-zation.

His 105 regular-season goals rank third behind Wilson and Bob Murray. His 18 game-winning goals rank third among all Blackhawks defensemen behind Wilson and Brent Seabrook. His 20 short-handed points rank second in franchise history behind only Chris Chelios.

There's no question that Duncan Keith is by far one of the best defenceman to have played in the modern era. Without a doubt, he's the most dynamic defenceman to have donned the Blackhawks jersey.

Before the Blackhawks retired his jersey at United Center, I imagine he will be getting a phone call from Lanny McDonald within the next twelve months regarding his place in the NHL Hall of Fame.
