The Chicago Blackhawks are gearing up for a crucial Central Division game against the Minnesota Wild tonight, and the team faces arguably their biggest test of the season.

Currently sitting at 5-9-1, The Blackhawks are currently riding a 2 game losing streak, and the team's elite players have to show up tonight against a dynamic Wild team - currently sitting 3rd overall in the NHL.

During a pre-game interview, Connor Bedard spoke to the challenge that lies ahead, also hyping up his opponent, Kirill Kaprizov.

"He's been one of the top guys in the league for a while. It feels like every year he takes another step, he's one of the hardest guys to play against, so, were excited for this challenge and we'll try to slow him down."

Then, Bedard was asked about the area's of Kaprizov's game he appreciates the most.

"Well, I think a lot of stuff. First off, his hockey IQ - the plays he makes and what he sees. But I think his his skating too, it's so unique, his edge work, puck protection, and he's really strong too. I don't think its something you really realize until you're playing against him, it's hard to get the puck off him."

This season, Kirill Kaprizov has been on fire for the Minnesota Wild. He's currently sitting at 27 points, ranking 2nd overall in scoring out of all players in the NHL.

The Chicago Blackhawks will undoubtedly have to bring their A-game tonight. The team has been struggling with taking costly penalties as of late, an area of their game they will need to mitigate as Kaprizov will take full advantage of any power play opportunities given.
