Recently, Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard did a photoshoot in homage of the iconic movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off", and Detroit Red Wings fans are not taking too kindly to it.

As per the hockey news, in the movie, Ferris has a friend named Cameron and there is the iconic image of him in his Gordie Howe Detroit Red Wings sweater standing in front of the painting "A Sunday on La Grande Jatte".

In the recreation of the scene, Bedard can be seen in front of the same incredible painting by Georges Seurat while wearing his own Chicago Blackhawks sweater. There is something magical about Original Six sweaters in front of amazing paintings.

Although Bedar's photo shoot was meant to be a fun reenactment of the iconic scene, it appears that some die hard Gordie Howe fans have been irked by it, calling "blasphemous" and "disrespectful".

Take a look at what some Detroit Red Wings fans have been saying on X (formally known as twitter)

"I don't know how i feel about this," a fan said.

"There is no way he knew what they were asking him to do and why," another fan said.

"Viewership must be low for the Blackhawks if they're trying to use nostalgia to boost interest," Another fan wrote.

"They mimicked, but didn't recreate the scene given the different jersey," a fan noted.

"Can they recreate a get your act together Connor your team is 2nd to last in your division and 6 spots from the worst in the league?" a fan wrote while feeling disappointed.

It's clear that Detroit Red Wings fans have very strong feelings about this photoshoot. The Chicago Balckhawks, like the Detroit Red Wings, are an Original 6 franchise, and the tribute was intended as a nod to an iconic movie scene, not as a slight against Gordie Howe.
