Connor Bedard made history against the Anaheim Ducks
Although the Chicago Blackhawks start to the 2024-25 season has been far from ideal, Connor Bedard continues to find different way to impress fans across the NHL.
Last night, the Chicago Blackhawks faced-off against the Anaheim Ducks, were unfortunately edged out by a score of 3-2.
Although the game was a disappointment, Chicago Blackhawks superstar Connor Bedard made history by being the fourth teenager in franchise history to record 50 assists -- a pretty incredible statistic to say the least.
His second assist marked the 12th time in his career that Bedard has recorded multiple assists in a game. That passed Bobby Hull for second most by a teenager in Blackhawks' history. Kane is the franchise leader with 13 (only one more than Bedard).
And with the second assist, Bedard became just the sixth active player with at least a dozen multi-assist games as a teenager. The others: Sidney Crosby (31), Connor McDavid (17), Andrei Svechnikov (13), Patrick Kane (13) and Rasmus Dahlin (12).
-Bleacher Nation Despite Connor Bedard etching his name in Blackhawks history, his play this year has been far from his standard.
Recently, Bedard admitted to "not playing great", including going into great detail about his frustrations during a post game interview.
We knew they were going to come on hard whether it was back-to-back or not, it's just a game we got to win where we're up and felt like we were in control of the game a little bit, and then we let it slip away.
So, it's frustrating - I'm trying to play, get better, and obviously, part of my role is to produce. I want to do that at a more consistent rate.»
-Connor Bedard
So far, Connor Bedard has 15 points in 19 regular season games. Although that level of production is pretty respectable for most NHL fans, Bedard knows he's capable of much higher numbers.
