Chicago Blackhawks issue grim update on Seth Jones

The Chicago Blackhawks season continues to be riddled with bad news as the team has received a breaking injury update on defenceman Seth Jones.

According to Chicago Blackhawks insider Ben Pope, Seth Jones will be sidelined for approximately the next month due to an an injury sustained against the Seattle Kraken last Thursday.

Seth Jones is going to be out of the Chicago Blackhawks lineup for a while. After playing in 17 games, Jones is on IR with a foot injury. Before getting hurt, he had two goals and eight assists for 10 points in those 17 games.

According to sources, Seth Jones blocked a shot against Seattle Kraken Forward André Burakovsky, resulting in an unfortunate foot injury.

Jones has logged 10 points in 17 games this season and is averaging a league-leading 25:43 per contest. The 30-year-old is in his fourth season with the Blackhawks after being acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Luke Richardson mentioned how tough it'll be without Jones in the lineup:

The Blackhawks will now be heavily relying on Connor Murphy to step in during Jones's absence to step in alongside Alex Vlassic.

Having Seth jones sidelined for the next 4 weeks is a huge blow to the organization. The Blackhawks have a tough schedule coming up, and the Chicago Blackhawks will need to dig deep in order to salvage their season.
