So far, the Chicago Blackhawks are scoring in the bottom percentile in almost every statistical category, including their 36.7% expected-goals ratio during five-on-five play ranks 31st in the NHL, ahead of only the Sharks'.
With that being said, it's time for Kyle Davidson to explore the market for external help before all hope is lost. Hockey analysts have linked Anaheim Ducks superstar Trevor Zegras to the Blackhawks before, and Davidson must act quickly to bolster his stagnant offence.
Trevor Zegras is only 23 years old. He's shown glimpses of offensive brilliance in the past, but has struggled to get any sort of traction this season.
In 16 regular season game with the Anaheim Ducks, Zegras has notched just 2 goals and 2 assists, posting a -6 rating on the ice. NHL enthusiasts are beginning to wonder if a change in scenery might help him find his scoring prowess.
Trevor Zegras is a former NHL all-star, and playing alongside Connor Bedard could pose as an excellent 1-2 punch for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Currently, Kyle Davidson has two 2025 first round picks in his back pocket, and has the ammunition to solidify this deal, but Davidson must act quickly to get this deal done.
As it stands, Trevor Zegras would be a great addition to the Chicago Blackhawks re-building efforts.
