Recently, Chicago Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno voiced some frustration regarding the lack of exposure the team is getting on local television.

Chicago plays most of their games on Chicago Sports Network which isn't on a lot of streaming platforms including Xfinity cable. Getting this network is difficult right now and most people don't get to watch games at their homes.

It's no secret by now that the Chicago Blackhawks are currently at the bottom of the NHL standings, ranked 28th in the league.

Despite their lack of success so far, captain Nick Foligno spoke in an interview, stating that their lack of television exposure presents a good opportunity to sort their game out, hinting at the notion that fans aren't watching due to the lack of display.

Foligno knows the issues that come with this TV problem. Fans can't watch them unless they are fortunate with their TV situation or go to every home game. That puts pressure on the players to be better at home, but they haven't done that yet.

The team is bad at the United Center, which is one thing. Nick Foligno acknowledging publicly that the TV situation is known within the locker room is another. Frankly, it's embarrassing. The Hawks must find a way to resolve this.
The Hockey News

Although Nick Foligno mentions the team must be better, fans have been calling out NHL commissioner Gary Bettman to fix the current state of NHL exposure on television.

Commissioner Gary Bettman basically confirmed that the league would be switching towards streaming in the next few years earlier this season when NHL on Prime debuted. There's simply much more viewers on streaming, and with declining TV ratings, the move seems guaranteed.
