The Chicago Blackhawks took on the Detroit Red Wings last night for an epic original 6 showdown, and the game came with no shortage or drama.

It's no secret by now that Patrick Kane is arguably one of the biggest legends in Chicago's rich sports history.

With that being said, young Connor Bedard has some big shoes to fill coming into his sophomore season with the Blackhawks.

Naturally, last nights game against the Detroit Red Wings came with a certain degree of hype. When Patrick Kane comes to down to Chicago, there always seems to be an unexplainable buzz that pulsates through the air at United Center.

Although the Blackhawks were ultimately edged out by a score of 4-1 in a disappointing loss, one particular play on the ice last night has sparked some controversy amongst Blackhawks enthusiasts.

At 15:24 in the 1st period, Connor Bedard was tripped up by Patrick Kane, and Bedard took it upon himself to seek a little unwarranted retribution.

Although Bedard's penalty was nowhere near as substantial as the hit he laid on Kane last year, it's that type of behaviour that leads to costly goals and crushing defeats.

Currently sitting at a 5-8-1 record, the Chicago Blackhawks must make every attempt to clean up every aspect of their game, especially mitigating stupid penalties.

Despite the penalty, there seems to be no bad blood between the former Blackhawks legend and their future phenom.
